(HOLLYWOOD, CA)—Robert Auerbach, Founder and CEO of HighJohn Records, is pleased to announce the premiere of the documentary film, and simultaneous DVD release of Time Brings About A Change…A Floyd Dixon Celebration. Floyd Dixon is the pianist/singer/writer often credited with putting the “jump’ in the growing 1950s Los Angeles jump blues scene with a string of hits including his signature, “Hey, Bartender.” Floyd may have passed away in 2006, just a few weeks after appearing at Bob Corritore’s iconic Rhythm Room in Phoenix. But the music and indomitable spirit of this remarkable man will live forever.
His performance, as well as those of special guests Willie “Pinetop” Perkins, Henry Gray and Johnny Tucker is immortalized in Time Brings About A Change…A Floyd Dixon Celebration DVD documentary that captures the energy and excitement generated by these legends via their music and special interview footage shot during the weekend of the engagement. Fabulous Thunderbird co-founder, Kim Wilson also took part in the extravaganza. A special screening of this historic piano summit will be held on Wednesday, March 6 at the Cinema City Stadium Theatres in Anaheim, CA. City Hall will distribute the DVD nationally the same day.
Time Brings About A Change Co-producer and the event’s musical director, Kid Ramos will be among the premiere’s attendees, joining Director, Phillip Cruess, fellow co-producers Bob Corritore, Lissette Cruess, Clarke Rigsby, Executive Producer Auerbach and a number of celebrity guests.
